In the continuing effort to broaden their artistic horizons, Leavenworth Summer Theater has hired its first ever Resident Lighting Designer. Maren Cagle has been an active member of LST from its first days, and has handled many theatrical design tasks for the company.

Icicle Arts Gallery presents “From Weeds to Wildflowers,” featuring mixed media monotype prints by Seattle artist April Richardson. The exhibit opens on June 7 and will be on display until July 16, 2011. A reception for the artist will be held on Friday, June 10, from 5PM to 7PM with free admission, refreshments, and local wines by donation. The gallery is located at Barn Beach Reserve - 347 Division Street in downtown Leavenworth. Gallery hours are Thursday through Sunday, 11AM to 5PM and by appointment.
Icicle Creek Theatre Festival and ACT-A Contemporary Theatre announce the two plays selected for workshops at this year’s Festival (August 20-24): YOU FOR ME FOR YOU by Mia Chung, and THE WHALE by Sam Hunter. These plays will be presented at Icicle Creek Music Center in Leavenworth, WA, on Saturday, August 20, and at ACT Theatre in Seattle on Tuesday, Aug. 23 and Wednesday, Aug. 24.

Icicle Creek Theatre Festival announces 2011 general auditions on Sunday May 22 in “the Barn” at Barn Beach Reserve located at 347 Division Street in Leavenworth, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. The 2011 plays have not yet been chosen, and no breakdown of roles is available at this time.
